A shinai is a traditional bamboo practice sword used for kendo training and competition. This Taiwan Shinai is made from four carefully shaped bamboo slats (take), held together by a leather tip cap (saki-gawa) at the top and a leather handle (tsuka-gawa) at the bottom. These parts are connected by a durable nylon cord (tsuru).
Thanks to its lightweight and flexible construction, fast and controlled movements can be performed easily. Combined with a bogu (protective armor), a shinai allows practitioners to train and spar safely with full speed and power.
This Taiwanese version offers an excellent balance between quality and affordability and is suitable for both beginner and advanced kendoka.
